ILOILO CITY, Feb. 11 (PIA) – PhilHealth Regional Office 6 is celebrating its 16th Anniversary on Valentine’s Day, by launching more Service Desks to cater to a bigger number of clients, especially in remote municipalities.

PhilHealth-6 director Marilyn Geduspan said two of these were opened in Estancia and Guimbal on February 9-10 respectively.

She said the Estancia PhilHealth is installed at the vicinity of the public market, while that in Guimbal is at the Senior Citizens’ building beside the district hospital.

With a desk in Estancia, PhilHealth members who have patients in the local hospitals need not go to Iloilo City or in Sara just to request for their membership data record (MDR).

The Guimbal Service Desk will serve clients from Tubungan, Igbaras, Miagao, San Joaquin and Tigbauan, and will be open momentarily every Thursday and Tuesday.

Geduspan said PhilHealth will also launch the same desk in Boracay Island on February 28.

Information Officer Larry Tabsing said February is declared as the National Health Insurance month and in this connection, PhilHealth offices all over the region will be holding various activities, like hospital and home for the aged visitation, bloodletting, tree planting and other forms of “pakulo” to treat the clients.
